What Vanta OS is

Vanta OS is a personal health and wellness application that builds a “digital twin” from data you provide, including Apple Health metrics, lab reports, meals, and conversations, and uses it to suggest daily protocols. Vanta OS is a wellness product, not a medical device, and does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment. Always consult a qualified physician before acting on health information.

Data we collect

• Account: name, email, date of birth, sex at birth, and sign-in identifiers (Sign in with Apple; you may hide your email).
• Health and fitness data you choose to connect or upload: Apple Health (HealthKit) data you grant read access to, including sleep, heart rate variability, resting heart rate, respiratory rate, VO2 max, steps, active energy, exercise time, body weight, and workouts; lab or bloodwork reports you upload (PDF or image, parsed to extract your biomarker values); logged meals including meal photos; height, weight, goals, health conditions and medications you tell us about.
• Conversations: messages you exchange with the Vanta assistant.
• Payment: subscriptions are processed by Apple; we receive subscription status only (via our payments processor, RevenueCat), never your card details.
• Device and usage data: basic device information (device model, OS version, app version) as needed to operate the service. We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

How we use it

• To build your health profile (“twin”), compute your scores, and generate your personalized protocol.
• To answer your questions: your messages and relevant profile data (Apple Health metrics, lab marker values, interview answers, meal photos, and basic profile details) are processed by Anthropic, our large language model (LLM) provider, acting as our processor. We ask for your explicit consent in the app before health data is sent for this purpose, and we strip your name and contact details before anything is sent. We contractually prohibit Anthropic from training models on your data.
• To parse lab reports you upload and estimate nutrition from meal photos. Before a report is processed by AI, we remove your name and other identifying details; we extract only your biomarker values and do not retain the original report file after parsing.
• To operate, secure, and improve the service.

What we never do

• We never sell your personal data.
• We never share health data with advertisers, data brokers, or for marketing.
• Apple Health (HealthKit) data is used only to provide the app’s health features, is never used for advertising or other data-mining, and is never disclosed to third parties except processors providing app functionality, as required by Apple’s guidelines. We never write to Apple Health, and we never store HealthKit data in iCloud.

Sharing

Only with service providers under contract (cloud hosting, LLM inference via Anthropic, OCR and parsing, subscription management via RevenueCat, payments via Apple), and only what each needs. Each provider is contractually required to protect your data to the same standard described in this policy. Legal disclosure only where required by law.

Storage and security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Authentication tokens are stored in the device Keychain. Our services are hosted on cloud infrastructure in the United States and India.

Your rights and controls

• Access and export: request a copy of your data at privacy@vanta-os.com.
• Account deletion: delete your account and all associated data directly in the app (Settings → Delete account). Deletion is permanent and completes within 30 days.
• Disconnect Apple Health: revoke access anytime in the app or in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.
• Chat consent: you can decline or revoke consent for sending health data to the assistant; features that need it will not run.
• Depending on your region (GDPR/EEA, UK, India DPDP, California), you may have additional rights to correction, restriction, and portability; contact us to exercise them.

Subscriptions

Auto-renewing subscription (monthly or annual) billed through your Apple ID. Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Prices are shown in the app before purchase.

Children

Vanta OS is not for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We will notify you in the app of material changes and update the effective date above.
